Turkey is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful countries I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. The locals in Turkey are some of the friendliest people I have ever met, where nothing is too much hassle, they’re always smiling and happy to help.
In 4 days time I’ll be flying to Turkey for two weeks – excited is an understatement!
It’s been three years since I last went to Turkey (we’re staying at the same hotel), and I had only been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease for 7 months. I can’t say it was the best food experience I’ve ever had, especially since it was my first trip abroad since being diagnosed.
This week is the official Coeliac Awareness Week, meaning brands, bloggers and coeliac folk will be raising their voices to spread awareness of the autoimmune disease. I was diagnosed 3 & a half years ago, and I can tell you coeliac disease is manageable and you can still eat exciting, tasty and yummy food!
When it comes down to having a pantry/kitchen cupboard stocked full of gluten free staples, I think most of us have got it covered. The free-from supermarket isles are stocked full of choice for those of us who need to eat a gluten free diet, and variety has never been this good. Although, how many of these pantry staples are considered healthy? Looking at your pantry, are your shelves stocked full of processed food such as cakes, biscuits and bread?
Afternoon Tea is a ritual I’ve loved ever since I was a child. At any given opportunity, my mum and I will seek out a new place to have our afternoon tea – whether it be on a trip to London, a Mother’s Day outing or when we’re planning a girly spa day. The tiny sandwiches, delicious scones and patisserie cakes make lunch that little bit more special.
Valentine’s Day is fast upon us and whether you’re a supporter, hater, Galentine’s lover or simply just want to buy a present for yourself, this gift list is for you! I have to say I’m not a big fan of buying presents on Valentine’s – mainly because my boyfriend’s birthday is three days later, plus he’s also spending the day in Disneyland Paris this year, so I’m still a bit bitter…
We’re day 3 into 2018 and this is usually the time everyone buys into fad diets, detox teas and meal replacements. I can tell you now it’s not worth it! Eating real, delicious, fresh food will always be the best option and will ultimately give you results that last.
This week was the highly anticipated Health Blog Awards 2017 – a collaboration between That Protein and the Health Bloggers Community, celebrating the achievements of health bloggers in the UK, Ireland and the EU.
The Lean Pantry Co. is an amazing healthy eating café and pantry based in Oakham & Stamford that is gluten, wheat, dairy & refined sugar free. My mum and I visited their cafe in Stamford for lunch last weekend, and whilst the space is small, the additional seating upstairs is handy when it gets busy. We, however, sat on table next to window so we could watch everyone get absolutely soaked in the rain!
